Paolo Todde
Sardinian comrade Paolo Todde, who was already persecuted in the first half of
the 2000 in the wake of the repression against the anarchist social center
FRARIA in Cagliari, has been in pretrial detention since October 23, 2024, for
robbery. He had already been arrested several years ago for armed robbery. On
April 25 2025, he and other prisoners began a hunger strike to protest the.
living conditions in the prison in Uta (Sardinia). The intervention of the so-
called “guarantors” (comparable to an ombudsman), who made only empty
and useless promises, led to the collective hunger strike being called off after
less than a week. However, Paolo decided to continue it on his own on May 8,
with the clear intention of seeing it through to the bitter end. We would like to
point out that Paolo is 64 years old and began the strike weighing only 61 k.
Paolo shares many dreams with us: that of a free Sardinia, hatred of prisons
and the society that produces them.

In October 2017, FS8 officers arrested six antifascists who played airsoft in the
woods. The FSB planted weapons and explosives in some of their vehicles, and
tortured them in pre-trial detention- beating them, hanging them upside down,

force the arrestees to validate forged testimony professing that they are part of an
alleged terrorist “network.” At the end of January 2018, four more antifascists were
arrested in St. Petersburg. They were also beaten, tortured by means of electrical

#+Sending letters to Russia. Censorship in Russian pre-trial detention centres and
correctional facilities forbids prisoners to correspond in foreign languages. Please
use online translators to compose a message in Russian. Discussing a criminal case,
radical statements, even conveying news and opinions about Russian military
aggression against Ukraine can lead to pressure and the imposition of penalties on
the prisoner. Of course, you are free to write whatever you want, but try to
formulate your message in such a way that it does not harm the recipient.
If you are writing to prisoners outside of organised solidarity events, find out if it is
possible to send letters to the Russian Federation from your region. If impossible,
You can scan the message or postcard and send it to abc-msk(at)riseup.net. The
activist team in Russia will print out all the material received and send it to the
prisoners.
